Chemical Peels
We offer brands of medical grade chemical peels: SkinMedica and the Perfect Derma Peel. These peels have no downtime, and one has minimal downtime. We can target acne, hyperpigmentation, pores, fine lines, wrinkles, and an even brighter complexion. Depending on the goal, it can require a series of peels 4-6 weeks apart. Maintenance also depends on personal goals. All skin types are good candidates.
Using various ingredients to peel the skin, including lactic, glycolic, salicylic, retinoic, and trichloroacetic acids, chemical peels lighten and brighten your skin. When applied to the skin, acids interact with the proteins in your skin to cause exfoliation and peeling. Different acids cause peeling at different depths, giving you a superficial, medium, or deep peel. They are an excellent way to freshen your skin and restore its glow.
SkinMedica offers several peels, including the Illuminize Peel®, the Vitalize Peel®, and the Rejuvenize Peel™. These peels are administered by a professional and are designed to help your complexion appear more uniform and younger.
Perfect Derma Peel is the only peel to include glutathione, a potent peptide used as a brightener that helps reduce cell inflammation.
Only medical-grade chemical peel treatments are offered at Empowered MedSpa. We design peels to a client’s complexion needs. These non-surgical facial treatments are ideal for most skin types and can greatly reduce aging symptoms with just a few treatments.
It may take more than one treatment with a mild or medium peel to realize your desired results. Deep chemical peels offer intense exfoliation that can last for years. However, deep peels are an aggressive skin resurfacing procedure only done once in a lifetime and in a plastic surgeon’s office under sedation. Usually, the deeper the peel, the more dramatic results you will have. However, deep chemical peels do have downtime and long recovery times.

Dermaplaning
Our Med Spa has been trained and certified in person with Dermaplane Pro. This may be a stand alone treatment or an add on to many of our other services. It’s especially great added onto a laser, chemical peel or hydrafacial appointment.
Dermaplaning immediately rejuvenates the skin by removing the top layer of skin cells from the stratum corneum along with vellus hair (peach fuzz) . It is highly effective in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars, while leaving skin smooth, supple, and vibrant. It has been used for over 40 years to prepare the skin for chemical peels and laser treatments. Dermaplaming also increases the penetration of active ingredients in treatment room and home care products.
